St Patricks Day In New York

leave a comment »

ENGLISH: Yesterday we awoke to 60 degrees, blue skye – and green beer. It was St Patricks Day and Manhattan was filled with shamrocks, Guinness and men dressed in green and crazy hats. Since I spent Wednesday in bed with stomach flue (food poisoning?) I was glued to my computer yesterday, but Anna and Mattias were my eyes on the town. The day celebrates the Irish saint St Patrick, but has evolved to a more general celebration of the Irish culture. Which is all good – except for the silly hats.
